Beacon Knights 1 v 2 Pinhoe Warriors
Goals: Seb Richards,
Dylan Thorne
A much improved Pinhoe team began strongly with some excellent passing moves, determined tackles and several attempts at goal. Although they were dominant, there were occasional breaks from Beacon Kinights but these were dealt with confidently by the Pinhoe defenders and goalie. However, an unfortunate handball in the box gave the visitors a penalty and it was struck well leaving Paul Cranston no chance to save it.
The second half began with Beacon Knights putting on pressure but then Pinhoe came close to scoring with a shot from Seb Richards. They persisted with good football and Dylan Thorne hit the crossbar. Some great work from Toby Goodwin who passed left to Corey Holman who sent a great ball to Seb who sent in flying to the back of the net to level the game. A few moment later, Dylan made it 2 - 1 after more great football. Dylan almost scored again in the dying moments of the game but the visiting goalie made a superb save.
This was a much better performance from Pinhoe who deserved the win.

Pinhoe Warriors 1 v 3 Stoke Hill
Goals : Bayley Smeath
Stoke Hill took the lead 15 minutes into the first half which had been evenly balanced until then. They followed this with a second goal just moments later. Pinhoe responded well gaining a corner which forced an excellent stretching save from their goalie but although they pressurized well they couldn't find the net during the first half and credit should be given to Stoke Hill who defended well.
Pinhoe continued to press forward in a determined fashion in the second half and their persistence was rewarded with a well taken goal by Bayley Smeath. The excitement mounted as Toby Goodwin hit the crossbar and a flurry of crosses were not converted. In the dying minutes Stoke Hill broke free and attacked again themselves and sealed the game in the final minutes with a third goal.

Brixington Blues 6 v 0 Pinhoe Warriors
Goals : Nil
Pinhoe began the match with an early break by Dylan Thorne who forced the Brixington goalkeeper to make an excellent save to prevent the away team taking an early lead. It was another 20 minutes before Pinhoe escaped from their own half and it appeared that they were still reflecting on their heavy defeat from the previous week. Brixington controlled the game and by half time were 4 - 0 up.
Pinhoe appeared more determined for the early part of the second half and defended well but there was no let up in the onslaught from the Blues and eventually a stunning fifth goal was Brixington's reward for persistence. A 6th goal soon followed and although the final 10 minutes showed that the Warriors still had some spirit - this was easily their best period of the match - the consolation goal would not come and Brixington congratulated on a convincing victory.

Pinhoe Warriors 0 v 6 Twyford
Goals : Nil
Pinhoe were dominant in the first half and shots form Dylan Thorne and Seb Richards went just wide. However, Twyford made sudden breaks which challenged Pinhoe's defence they and would have taken the lead midway through the half if Luke Crawford had not made a kick off the goal line after Paul Cranston's initial diving save.
In the second half there were early opportunities for both teams but they remained deadlocked until a terrific shot from 30 yeards out soared into the top corner of Pinhoe's net. Ten minutes later a well-struck shot from a wide angle gave Twyford a further advantage. The game remained tense as both teams hit the woodwork in quick succession. With 15 minutes to go Twyford scored a third goal - a rebound from an initial good save by Pinhoe's goalie. The home team's dismay was apparent as they then lost their shape and their earlier determination and commitment. Three further easy goals gave Tyford a 6 - 0 victory which perhaps did not reflect how close the match had actually been.

The first ten minutes of this match were competitive with both sides defending well. Pinhoe then began to dominate and had a total of 7 corners awarded during the first half. Brixington continued to defend well and their goalkeeper made a terrific save from a well-taken free kick by Luke Harris. A little later he made another excellent diving save to prevent Seb Richards’ powerful shot landing in the top right-hand corner of his goal. His efforts, along with some excellent defence from his team mates ensured that the score remained 0 - 0 at half time.
The second half started with Brixington coming forward and Pinhoe were fortunate not to go behind when Paul Cranston, their keeper, who had barely touched the ball in the first half, pushed the ball across the mouth of his goal. A moment later, Pinhoe broke away and Seb Richards smashed the ball from a wide outfield position into the top right hand corner of the Brixington goal. This was swiftly followed by some good midfield play by Pinhoe and an excellent pass from Dylan Thorne enabled Oliver Rowe to give Pinhoe a 2 - 0 lead. Brixington then fought back and a goalmouth scramble at the other end narrowed the lead to 2 – 1. Pinhoe then pressed forward again and Dylan Thorne stretched the visitors’ lead once more by placing the ball in the net from just in front of the goal. Within a minute there was more action around the Pinhoe goal with a brilliant clearance from Bayley Smeath off the line. This was the start of Brixington’s strongest spell of the match and they were rewarded with a second goal. However, Pinhoe remained determined and some excellent passing enabled Dylan Thorne to make the score 4 – 2. The excitement continued to the end with Cory Holman making a shot that was inches over the bar swiftly followed by a final attempt by Brixington which forced Paul Cranston to make a desperate clearance off the line at the other end.

The home team’s confidence grew from this equalizer and they dominated the remainder of the game, taking the lead a few moments later. They then scored from the penalty spot and although there was a spirited drive forward by Pinhoe culminating in a shot by Oliver Rowe, it was well saved by the Crediton keeper. Friendly Game
In lovely autumn sunshine, Pinhoe started strongly and went ahead after 10 minutes with a goal from striker, Dylan Thorne. They continued to attack and two shots went just over the bar. Alphington then came back strongly and found gaps in the Warriors defence. A pinpoint shot from Matt Cram led to the equalizer. The Warriors responded quickly and went ahead again five minutes later with a superb lob from Cory Holman. The home team continued to press forward and were soon rewarded with another great team goal by Dylan Thorne. The Alphington keeper continued to be kept busy with shots from Toby Goodwin and Dylan Thorne and did well to clear the ball from a goalmouth scramble just before half-time with Pinhoe well on top.
Pinhoe Warriors continued to press forward in the second half, eager for more goals and Louis Toleman and Oliver Rowe both had good attempts. Soon after a Pinhoe corner led to a powerful driving shot along the ground from Aaron Beer which somehow went past a sea of defenders to land in the net, giving Pinhoe a comfortable 4 – 1 advantage. A fifth goal, this time from Oliver Rowe, cemented Pinhoe’s victory. A consolation goal, however came for Alphington with another driving shot, which Paul Cranston, only managed to touch lightly with his fingertips before it rippled the net. Pinhoe, persistent to the end finished strongly with a shot centimetres above the cross bar from Louis Toleman followed by a shot from Seb Richards which rebounded off the post.
The final score of Pinhoe 5 – Alphington 2 was a well-deserved victory for the home team and enabled the boys to show their character and determination to come back so strongly after their crushing defeat away to Brixington Blues the previous week.
