Sidmouth Warriors 2 v 1 Pinhoe Spartans
Goals: Brandon Carnall
This match started with Pinhoe playing reasonably well.Sidmouth however showed that they could pass and move confidently. Pinhoe forced an early corner and Jordon headed wide. Sidmouth responded with more pressure forcing a save as well as shooting wide.Sidmouth started to play the better football and were able to split the Pinhoe defence with Jack beaten in goal the post saved us. Back at the other end Tyler produced some great play squared the ball to Brandon who made no mistake - 1-0 Pinhoe.
The second half began with Pinhoe passing the ball better than in th efirst half, but Sidmouth increased the pressure. They equalised from a corner which Pinhoe were unlucky not to clear from the scramble. As the half progressed Pinhoe didn't really look like scoring, Sidmouth broke from midfield with 4 vs 2 our defence were split and it was 2-1 to Sidmouth. Pinhoe didn't respond and Sidmouth maintained the pressure. Overall a good game, maybe the Pins deserved a draw but Sidmouth played the better football.

Sidmouth Raiders 5 v 2 Pinhoe Spartans
Goals: Brandon Carnell,
Rory Gladstone
Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear boys, not your finest moment. This was a match that we should have, could have won.
Early on a goal kick bounced over 3 Pinhoe players, a simple goal 1-0 Sidmouth. Soon after we were caught again with nobody getting back to support the defence. Josh Reed managed, as ever, some good tackles but soon Sidmouth were 2-0 up with Pinhoe stood watching.
Pinhoe did manage a couple of chances, Josh Riglar let rip from distance and hit the bar and Tyler broke through to force a corner. However, Sidmouth broke through, out muscled our defence and were 3-0 up. Finally we woke up and Brandon pulled a goal back straight from the kick off, 3-1.
In the second half Pinhoe started with more purpose. Rory playig right midfield put a couple of crosses over and then pulled it back to 3-2 with a great near post goal. At this point we could have fought back but Sidmouth scored again and Pinhoe seemed to concede the game. Soon after they sealed the match with goal that saw our defence walking back. Despite this Pinhoe had a couple of better moves involving Tyler, Brandon & Rory neither of which really tested their keeper. Meanwhile Sidmouth continued the pressure and a great defencive header by Josh Reed literally knocked him off his feet. Fortunately he survived!!. Next week boys you all need to work harder and work for the team. If you are going to return to your winning ways you've all got to want it. Remember you've got the talent

Honiton 1 v 2 Pinhoe Spartans
Goals: Harry Mollins,
Josh Riglar
After a long lay-off Pinhoe took a while to find their rhythm. Early play was a little scrappy from both sides but Pinhoe maintained their shape and started to apply some pressure with Cory shooting over the bar and Tyler hitting the bar following a great cross from Jordon.
Meanwhile Honiton also had their chances with Rory putting in a couple a solid tackles to keep the scores level. Honiton had the best chance of the half but Jack pulled off a great save.
Three second half subs didn't stop Pinhoe who continued to create chances. Harry worked hard up front, chased well and was rewarded with the first goal, a simple tap in from a Tyler corner.
Showing great determination Josh Riglar won the
ball straight from the kick off and rifled a fantastic ball straight into the top corner (contender for goal of the season!)
Honiton were not out of it and put togethr some great moves which were well defended. However a great shot finally beat Jack.
This was good team performance with Jake and Owen both playing their parts.
Man of the match?? as voted by the parents- Rory-solid & dependable.
Highlight - a Josh Riglar shot hitting the ref 'a midships'-there were definately a few tears.

Kentisbeare 3 v 4 Pinhoe Spartans
Goals: Josh Riglar,
Tyler Smith 3
After a good performance in the first match, Pinhoe started this game out of sorts. Kentisbeare had all the early pressure with Jack being forced to make some early saves, one form a really hard short and another after Kentisbeare overwhelmed the Pinhoe defence who had been left stranded.
An immediate double substitution perked up Pinhoe but nevertheless Kentisbeare were soon 1-0 up. Pinhoe continued to press and some good play between Tyler, Jake and Josh Riglar levelled the scores.
Soon after Rory produced a long range pass out of defence and Tyler was on hand to make it 2-1. Pinhoe were passing the ball better now but Kentisbeare played well and Jack produced a great save after when one of their players got through.
The second half continued in the same vein with Pinhoe putting some nice moves together. Harry, Owen and Josh Riglar all had good shots on goal. But Pinhoe were caught again with too many players out of position and Kentisbeare levelled the score. They then went ahead after the defence failed to clear.
Meanwhile in the Kentisbeare goal a moments hesitation allowed Tyler to snap in an equaliser for Pinhoe.
Finally a cross from Owen found Tyler on the far post to head in the winner.
After a slow start another good performance.
Well done Jack, man of the match.
Player of the day- Tyler Smith who was a contender for man of the match in both games

Stoke Hill 0 v 7 Pinhoe Spartans
Goals: Brandon Carnall 3,
Jordan Ford 1,
Kai Salam 2,
Josh Reed 1
Pinhoe played some really good passing football and were soon rewarded with a well taken goal from Jordan Ford,
Stoke tried hard to keep the pins out with some good defensive play but with just mins.to go to half time Josh Reed went on a great run and shot from outside the box and nearly broke the net with a thunderbolt of a shot to put the pins 2 nill up.must mention Tyler Smith who had a great half.
Second half started well with Jake Proctor and Josh Riglar playing well together in midfield,
Brandon Carnall came off the bench to grab two well taken goals to put the pins 4 nill up,by this time Stoke heads started to drop and pinhoe pushed harder and harder and were rewarded when Kai Salam made it 5 nill. one more from Brandon and Kai sealed a good win for the pins.
Well played Jack Telford in goal, another clean sheet.

Broadclyst 1 v 8 Pinhoe Spartans
Goals: Brandon Carnell 3,
Jake Proctor 2,
Jordon Forde 2,
James Floyd 1
The early exchanges in this game were even with Pinhoe very slow in the tackles and unable to find their passing game. However it wasn't long before Brandon who was particularly lively, squeezed a shot in at the far post. Broadclyst hit back straight from the kick off with a good goal which found the Pinhoe defence asleep. Pinhoe started to battle after this and Brandon dribbled up the wing and scored from a tight angle. Jake Proctor finished off a good move to put Pinhoe 3-1 up. Broadclyst battled on and put a good move together and should have scored. Cory then put a good ball through the middle which allowed Brandon to make it 4-1. Broadclyst kept going and forced a good save from Jack in goal.
In the second half Pinhoe continued to play well even though they changed the whole team. Owen started well in midfield and combined well with Kai and Jordon throughout the half. It was Jordon who picked up a loose ball and made it 5-1. With Jake back on for the injured Kai Pinhoe made it 6-1. Jordon then extended the lead again with a lovely strike. To cap a great performance James Floyd made it 8-1 with a goal on his debut.

Newton Knights 1 v 10 Pinhoe Spartans
Goals: Jake Proctor 1,
Tyler Smith 1,
Josh Riglar 4,
Brandon Carnell 2,
Josh Reed 1,
Kai Salam 1
Having played the first match on a pitch with little bounce the second game of the morning was played in something of a mud bath. The score-line is quite flattering to Pinhoe as Newton had several good players up front but were let down by the defence who failed with a lot of the basics.
Pinhoe were soon 2-0 up through Jake and Tyler but Newton pulled a goal back through their strong front two. However, soon after Newton capitulated and goals came thick and fast from Brandan 2 goals, Josh Riglar 4 goals including a cheeky back heel (a la Ronaldo) even Josh Reed ventured out of his own half to score his annual goal - this year he decided to use his left foot!
The second half started with Pinhoe 9-1 up. Once again a change of team and Pinhoe continued the pressure, playing some good football. Newton however did defend better, and despite a number of shots from Jordon Pinhoe could not extend their lead. Most of the play was with Pinhoe with Rory rattling the cross bar with a great header during a period of 4 successive corners. Again Kai, Owen and Jordon combined well and Kai was rewarded with a goal to make it 10-1 .
Player of Match: Josh Riglar - for the back heel!

Newton Abbot 66 3 v 0 Pinhoe Spartans
Goals: Nil
With Newton Abbot unbeaten this season, Pinhoe knew this was going to be a tough game. Pinhoe started really fired up with Brandon and Tyler battling hard in midfield. The game was certainly played at a higher pace and more physical than Pinhoe are used to. Brandon limped off having picked up a knock, the only Pinhoe player to go missing was Jack who was lost in the bushes twice looking for the ball! In the meantime there were opportunities at both ends but Newton took their chance following a good which found the Pinhoe defence standing off.
The second half started at the same pace with Rory breaking down the right, feeding Tyler who forced a save. Both sides had chances but a good move by Newton made it 2-0. Pinhoe heads didn't go down and the whole team kept battling on. But Newton again showed why they are unbeaten with another well taken goal making it 3-0.
This game was played with pace and passion usually seen in the Premiership. Well played everyone in the team; all the Pinhoe supporters were proud of you.
Player of Match: The whole team- Everyone played their socks off

Dawlish 4 v 0 Pinhoe Spartans
Goals: Nil
The first game had obviously taken its toll on the
lads who didn't quite summon the same energy for this game. Nevertheless there was plenty of pressure from Pinhoe with Cory having a great shot and Josh Rigler hitting the bar. Shortly afterwards Pinhoe were very unlucky to find themselves 2-0 down! Firstly a speculative looping shot beat Jack and secondly a well cleared ball bounced off a Pinhoe player and landed at the feet of a Dawlish striker who had a simple job to put it in the
back of the net.
In the second half Jake and Josh came on and the pressure increased on the Dawlish goal. There were goal mouth scrambles at both ends but when Pinhoe failed to clear Dawlish were 3-0 up. The game became stretched and Dawlish sealed their victory when they got themselves 3 v 1 with the Pinhoe midfield nowhere.
Pinhoe again kept battling and Tyler's last gasp effort hit the bar as the final whistle blew.
Once again well done, everyone played really well. A character building morning!
